It is particularly important that you have a consult with your photographer before doing your branding session. You want to make the best use of your time You are a very busy person after all. Photo sessions can take as few as 15 minutes for a studio headshot session to 3 hours for a full branding photo session. You and your photographer will go over all that together at your consult.
Begin with the End in Mind! What is your session meant to portray? Who is the end person you are trying to reach with your photos? Be sure to consider all the options when having your consult. Think about your color choices and theme. Clothing and prop choices should reflect your color pallet. You may not want a loud color choice in clothing if your overall idea is a soft look.
Think about props. Props are products, tools and personal items. These items should help reflect your brand. Maybe it is your cell phone or laptop. Maybe it is a sales sign or storefront. And if you are a chef or baker, maybe it is your stand mixer. See where we are going here?
Consider location for your session too. Often it is your own personal space – home, office, studio, store front, etc. But you may want to include spaces that reflect more of your story. Do you go to coffee shops to meet with clients? If so, include that space in your branding session. Do you work from your car? Part of your session can be there as well. Think outside the box. Tell YOUR story.
The consultation process will give you and opportunity to communicate your ideas you we can work together on images that you are excited to use. If you work with Kim Gangloff Photography, the consult is part of doing business. It is included in all branding sessions as well great service from me!
